My Students

I work in an amazing school that knows the value and impact of the arts in education. Our progressive and forward thinking school offers our students a two-week intensive course that they wouldn't normally have the chance to take.

Our school is unique within the city system; we use project based learning as a way to prepare our young thinkers for college by teaching them 21st century skills.

We are an all-girls school, grades 6-12, and our students come from all over NYC. Our girls are truly amazing.

My Project

My students need 34 monofilament screens and squeegees, 10 quarts of water-based acrylic fabric printing ink, drawing fluid, screen filler, and screen cleaner. We are having a two-week intensive that will give our girls real-world experiences. Our girls will visit a few small screen printing businesses in New York City and speak to artists and designers who work in the industry. The girls will create designs for wearable items such as t-shirts and bags and they will produce these items using safe screen printing methods. While they are designing and printing the girls will learn how to market the products they make, and open up a boutique within the school.

The driving force behind the school is to give our students authentic, real-world experience and that's why we offer our intensives.

The work our artists will put into our screen printing intensive is work they will to do outside in the real world. Your donations to our progressive little school will help us in our endeavor.
