I have been an early childhood educator for 12 years and was the academic coach for kindergarten, first grade, and second grade. I am currently the inclusionary practices coach for kindergarten to grade 6.
Imaginative, creative, and loving are words to describe the students I work with.
My students love to play and interact with manipulatives. They love to use their imagination in order to build structures like castles and bridges with blocks and LEGOs. They enjoy designing and creating crafts with random materials that are available in the classrooms. My students also enjoy being outdoors, from finding ladybugs on bushes to running around our recess field. They love being in school as they often tell me how glad they are to be there as soon as their parents drop them off.
With your support, I would love to give my students the tools they need to feel safe, successful, and happy in school.
My Project
This year, our school has created a Multi-Media Center. A place where teachers can bring their students to design, create, and innovate. One of the many things that our students have been interested in is T-shirt design and production.
By donating screen printing materials such as fabric inks, aprons, and squeegees, our students will be able to bring their designs to life.
Screen printing is art and science. The students will need to use their imagination to create a cool design that they'll want to wear forever. Science comes in when you start setting up – applying emulsion on a screen and learning the pressure and angle of the squeegee to make the best print.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
