My Students

For the past ten years, I have taught in a variety of classroom environments, each with their own unique rewards and challenges. As an educator, I am constantly looking for ways to improve my teaching style and classroom environment to best help my students find success.

This year I am teaching computer literacy in a ninth grade classroom.

My students are from all around Philadelphia. The ninth grade classes learn basic skills before selecting a professional track for the rest of their high school career. When they graduate, they will either be ready for college or to successfully enter the work force.

My Project

Have you ever tried to take notes on your phone? It's not as easy as they want you to believe. So the alternative is to carry my laptop with me whenever I go to workshops. I love growing my craft as a teacher and spend most weekends at conferences and workshops to grow and learn.

It's heavy to schlep around a laptop to take notes.

A Microsoft Surface Go is the perfect addition to my professional development arsenal. With it, I will be able to stay organized at conferences, stay connected with my professional learning communities from anywhere with wifi, and not break my back carrying around a full size laptop. It's small in size, but huge in computing power.
