Help me give my students the gift of scrapbooking, let their creativity flow. We would like a craft project box, various cardstock including glitter stock, double sided tape, markers, stickers, and other creative supplies.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our students are resilient; the young women of BxDesign are the minority in a predominantly male school. The female staff makes it a priority to meet regularly with our young women to empower and assist our young women to feel heard. Our monthly girl summit meetings are something our whole community looks forward to. In our career and technical training environment, female students often don't get a chance to showcase their creative, artistic side.
Our team would love to teach and inspire our young women to show off their creative side by having a scrapbook workshop during our girl's summit.
This will allow them to relax and get to know each other differently since scrapbooking gives you insight into the people and family most important to you.
Our young women work hard to fit into the male-dominated fields they have chosen as career paths. A chance to build bonds with the other young women at school is priceless.
