it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Two years of the pandemic have taken away our Montessori classroom rug...a centerpiece of our environment. This was the rug we used for community meetings and read alouds. This was the rug we received the gift of our Montessori lessons and then sat on to practice those lessons. This was the rug we used every single day!
Now our classroom is finally beginning to return to its pre-Covid days, but sadly our rug was not salvageable and we are missing all the wonderful experiences we had sitting on it.
Getting a new area rug for our Montessori environment will help to further restore our classroom to what it was prior to the pandemic. It will bring the comfort of a story read where every child can see the illustrations up close. It will be a gathering place for community meetings and a comfortable place to learn in large and smaller groups. It will make us feel more "normal" than we have felt in a very long time.
