This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

First, my students are the most energetic, curious, fun, and kind-hearted group of individuals. For years, science has been taught by classroom teachers. But this year, I was offered to be the lead science teacher for grades K-5! I have been dreaming of being a science teacher in my school for years

Now, I will have the honor to teach the world of science to my students.

For years, I have engaged all the students to participate in the Harlem Science Fair. Students have presented everything from creating bridges from wooden sticks to creating robots and coding. I know the students in my school thirst for more information about the world of science and STEM. My students come from different socioeconomic neighborhoods in Harlem, New York. They are naturally curious from different cultural backgrounds.

The supplies I'm asking for will support and organize my vision to open the door of science to my students. The microscopes, dry-erase boards, and STEM kits will be used in centers and help with group and individual learning.

Since my classes will be large, folders will allow each student to have a place for their work and make the area learning environment more structured. The wipes and paper towels will help us keep our classroom clean.
