Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

"We hear, we forget. We see, we remember. We do, and we understand." A Chinese proverb

I have a fabulous group of students who think very deeply about their world.

They are quite intuitive and get so excited over scientific explorations. They conduct self-initiated research to find the answers to questions that arise during investigations. They ponder over "unanswered questions" and phenomenon that have yet to be explained.

My Project

My students need an Aim Telescope, Water Cycle Model Set, Weather Forecasting Set, Thermometer and Barometer, Inflatable Solar System, Make Your Own Telescope Kit, and a Solar System Fact Finder for instructional materials to promote hands-on exploration and inquiry that will deepen my students' understanding of concepts about earth and its surrounding systems. The water cycle investigative kit will allow students to see the movement of water on earth through condensation and evaporation using a model students will then conduct their own investigation based on observations made (thus providing application to real life experiences.) We will be studying weather patterns and record weather systems across the United States. Students will observe the night sky using the telescope (available for students to check out) and discuss the origins of scientific tools. They will study the contributions of scientists who have paved the way for new understandings of our world and advanced technologies. Students will create their own telescope to follow-up with the experience. Solar System activities will develop my students' understanding of space and patterns within systems.

Any donation to this project would benefit my students greatly.

Thank you for your time and commitment to bettering the educational experiences for our future generation. You are appreciated! :)
