Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school serves students from Kindergarten through 8th grade. I teach 7th-grade science to all 100 7th graders, including gifted students and students with special needs. Most of the students have been in school together since they were in kindergarten. Our school has a strong sense of community and teachers know the students and their families. Our school has students who love to learn and are excited about science! They are energetic, helpful, smart and always try their best!

My Project

Science World Magazine provides students with exciting articles to read that address their interests, real-world issues, and how science is part of every aspect of our lives. Students are always excited to see what's inside and the topics spark conversations about what is happening in the world around us.

The best way to increase reading ability is to read more, and these magazines will help my students grow stronger in reading as they learn science.

The layout grabs the reader's attention by including bold headings, color, pictures, diagrams and captions which make it easier to identify topics and details as students read. Reading is sometimes difficult for my students, but these magazines make them want to read.
