My Project

Many of us take for granted that students can come in and pickup our Notes Books or Lab Books that are written in English and take off on an assignment without any thought. Our students that do not speak English, or have limited English skills, also want to learn the material and love to know what is going on in class. They want to participate, but many times struggle to translate the material in a way that makes sense if someone is not there to translate for them.

Having translation pens in the classroom for students to be able to access the content in their language so that they can particpate in real time will help those students be more successful in the classroom.

The diversity of our school is so beautiful and wonderful to embrace, but it has its challenges. Finding translated materials for all is by-far the biggest one. Having these pens in the classroom would guarantee that these students would be able to make sense of the content, no matter the language. Each child deserves to learn, no matter the barrier. These pens will be a wonderful addition to our toolkit for ESL supports in our classroom to help students overcome that barrier.
