Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach at a Title I elementary school in the North part of Houston, Texas. My students are amazing! Every day, they enter the classroom with excitement to learn something new. My classroom is a dual language classroom where students are learning both English and Spanish. My students love to read books and teach each other about their native language.

Imagine coming into a classroom where you can comfortably speak the language that is spoken at home and not be judged, and at the same time learn a new language to help you through life.

Well, that's what we do in my dual language class.

My students come from a low income neighborhood, where it is difficult to stay away from bad influences because of what they are exposed to on a daily basis. My students come to school every day ready to learn and excited about what they will learn in my classroom. It is difficult for my students to acquire a new language since most of them have no support at home. Therefore, I want to ensure that my students have whatever they need to become successful.

My Project

The science resources on TPT will continue to reinforce and enhance my students' learning.

The resources that I want to purchase from TPT will create a fun and engaging way for my students to summarize what they have learned all year in science class.

These resources will allow them to study and prepare for their upcoming state test. These materials will be used in student groups and small group instruction to help my students understand any misconceptions that they may have about what we have covered in class all year.
