My Project

Reading, writing and communicating in science requires the use of unique vocabulary. As a science cluster at a title one elementary school in the Bronx, my goal for my students to develop scientific communication skills from an early age. I want my students to have the practice writing down scientific vocabulary words to build a foundation of better speaking and writing communication skills, which will benefit them not only in science but throughout other subjects. Every students will receive their own vocabulary notebook. Students will write and draw the definition for each new scientific word that they have learned. This will promote consistency, ownership, and develops confidence in demonstrating their knowledge.
