Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My classroom is ready to grow! I am privileged to be testing new astronomy curriculum and improving an old physics labs! Students will be able to physically model and gather real data during interactive experiments. The hover soccer balls will be used to demonstrate effects of gravity on the motion of objects. The lights and light table stands will be perfect for demonstrations about Earth's seasons, and solar and lunar eclipse, The kids can also build models of what they observe and create explanations of how these phenomena occur. The projector, which has interchangeable filters, allows students to view constellations from Earth and examine our location in the galaxy. Marshmallows, plates, and thermometers will be used in our unit on light to measure a microwave and perform William Hershel's famous experiment of discovering infrared light.

Thank you!

I look forward to sharing the wonderful science we do with you!
