This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students in Miami, FL represent a wide variety of ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds. Our school is a public charter school that specializes in STEM activities. My students love to be actively engaged in their learning and we do a lot of group work and projects. As a science teacher with a Bachelors degree and a Masters degree in Education, I love connecting science to the real world and try to find as many activities as possible to use them in conjunction.

My students thoroughly enjoy hands on learning.

I strive to provide my students with the resources necessary to learn through experience and their senses. I also like to provide my students with a multitude of resources to enhance their learning and to ignite their passion for science.

My Project

These resources will continue to enhance our learning environment by allowing the students to be exposed to hands on learning with a model of our sun, Earth, and moon. Students will be able to see and learn about a concept that, without this resource, we couldn’t bring into the classroom. These educational resources have been chosen with my students in mind. It will allow them to better understand Earth and Space and Physical Science concepts. These resources will help prepare my 8th grade students for their upcoming standardized assessments for science by review, reteaching, and clarifying lessons from 6th and 7th grade science.
