Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The school that I work at serves a variety of students who come from multiple cultural and family backgrounds. Our school preK- 5 grade school has a diverse population. As a unique quality, our students get to experience an American Sign Language environment with our DHH (Deaf and Hard of Hearing) program.

The students at our school love to learn, and they love being able to come to a fun, safe, caring, and learning environment.

We have a wide variety of student needs at our school. We are a Title I school that has a very high mobility rate. They find comfort in the fact that school is one of the most constant aspects of some of their lives.

My students aspire to achieve the best despite any difficult circumstances they encounter along the way. They find joy in learning, and enjoy any provided learning opportunity.

My Project

This project is something that will greatly benefit my student's experiences in the classroom. Science and math are two subjects that can be really fun or really confusing. To support the enhanced learning experiences, I have created this project to peak student's interests in both subject areas.

My students need hands-on materials that will support their learning and better engage them in the activities.

The students in my class come from different backgrounds and each have a different learning abilities and styles. I want to provide them with the unique experiences to touch, experiment, and see different aspects in the science and math worlds. With these learning projects my students will be able to better understand what they are learning because they will get to experiment with the experiences!

My students will use science supplies to learn more about planting and gardening. Students will get to use hands-on experiences to plant, water, and grow flowers and food. Students will also get the opportunity to decorate their plants containers with the brushes included in the project.

We will use the bins for storage for the items and other classroom materials. iPad chargers and outlets will be used to replace the current ones in the class. These iPads are used in science research and everyday math work.

Other requested items will be used to provide hands-on and visual supports to the student’s math experiences. These tools will help the students learn how to read a clock, follow a schedule, and learn to work with money. Lastly, the bouncy bands will be used to support the movement needs of the students.
