Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The students I teach are passionate about learning. They come every day eager to learn something new. I love my students' pride they have for our school. Most of my students are active members of our after school clubs.

The demographics of my students are highly low income families, students who live in hotels and some students are considered homeless.

No matter their home/living situation they still give it their all during the day.

I offer my students a warm, loving, safe class to come every day. I offer different learning opportunities, so the students are prepared for higher learning. Through the opportunities the students learn to work as a team and become a family, which is another thing I love about my class.

My Project

The science materials will make a difference to my students because they will be able to do hands-on activities that will help them understand how real life science works.

I want to to expose my students to labs that will help them understand why the light will turn on, or will not turn on.

My students will be moving on to middle school next year and I want them to get the same science experience that their peers will be getting.

With the science materials I will be able to lead open investigations which will allow the students to push their thinking further. The bingo games that I am requesting will make learning essential vocabulary more enjoyable and engaging.

My goal in asking for the materials is to expose my students to science labs that they will enjoy, recognize and remember once they leave the my classroom.
