Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are curious about the world around them. They learn best when they have resources that allow them to see the science concepts in our community and the world. They are also working to build scientific literacy to make sense of the information presented to them through the media.

My Project

A subscription to Science World will allow students to read about real-life science issues that are trending in the community. A magazine offers a different form of literacy, and Science World is age-appropriate for middle school. The text is supplemented with graphics that help students digest the material. A subscription will also allow students to stay informed throughout the year and practice reading a variety of material. The digital version can be used in the case that the students need to engage in distance learning, so the resource can be utilized in a variety of settings!
