My Students

The students in my classroom are the Cool Cats and the children look forward to going to school every day! The children enjoy cooking activities, taking care of their hermit crab, exploring materials, and learning through play! The children love their teachers and we do our best to provide them with intentional learning experiences to expand their knowledge.

The Cool Cats think school is cool and we strive to keep them interested in learning new skills!

We have several parents that volunteer in the classroom and we provide the children with meaningful hands on experiences that are based on their interests.

My Project

These materials will enhance our learning environment through promoting science and language development. The children will have a variety of materials to use to conduct science experiments that will support the children in predicting, drawing conclusions, and communicating ideas. The children have been fascinated with several science experiments we have conducted this school year.

We will promote science with the materials and provide the children with interesting learning experiences to support them in making sense of the world.

We chose these materials because we want to provide the children with more science experiences to establish a positive outlook on this subject at an early age. Children are naturally curious about the things around them and we encourage them to test their ideas. As educators we feel that science is connected to supporting all domains of development. As the children test their ideas, it creates opportunities for us to provide them with information that will support concept development, quality feedback, and language modeling. The light cube and accessories will give the students a chance to learn about cause/effect; we will facilitate interactions to help them to understand the outcomes as they place different materials on the light cube.

We will also incorporate technology into our classroom with the addition of our listening center; it will provide the children with books they can listen to on a CD with their animal-themed headphones. The children enjoy reading books with the group, but there are several children that are really interested in reading and the listening center will give them a chance to explore books at their individual pace. We are looking forward to planning and implementing creative lessons with our new materials!
