My Project

This science library will be a crucial step to improving science literacy for all of our students. In order to achieve this goal, students need access to interesting, engaging science texts. Science topics from the texts will be included in the curriculum. As we explore pathogens, evolution, and cells, student learning will be deepened through access to the library. The science library will enhance learning, by giving students background knowledge about science topics that are covered in the curriculum for the living environment regents. We will also use the science library to teach specific literacy skills, such as text to self connections, summarizing main ideas, and interpreting science vocabulary.
