Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students live in a very rough neighborhood. Most of them living well below poverty, and many with at home stress issues they carry with them every day. They are only 7 or 8 years old but have already experienced trauma and emotional stress no child should. With so much going against them they still manage to have a smile and push themselves to learn and grow. I enjoy every moment I see them grow.

My students will always get my best because I know they give me theirs despite such a rough community environments.

I know its going to be a great day and start of the week when my students come to school Monday morning smiling, excited to share what they did, or asking what we will do today. When they are in school they seem to forget or not realize just how rough their community is, and I'm happy to be a part of the reason they come smiling.

My Project

My students will use the specimen kits to understand how to categorize the many different animal types and observe their unique characteristics. They will learn about each animal type one at a time and build up to the different classifications. While learning about our light source, we will be using the prisms to safely see that our light is made up of the entire visible spectrum of colors.

We will experiment what happens with different lights sources and angles then create a unique art piece to show the beauty light holds.

The science library book sets will give students at level books to read and learn more about each subject so that we may discuss, share, and write about. The science games will test how well they were able to understand main points and review key details about energy, types of matter, and planets all while having fun!

Your generous donation will not just impact the students this year, but for years to come! Thank you for your generosity and kindness. My students will enjoy their experience in science much more.
