For the first time, AP Chemistry is being offered at my high school. As an inner-city school, we have a small budget that must be distributed throughout the school, so there are few funds to get this science lab up and running.

In order to meet the stringent requirements of the AP/College Board program and Missouri state standards, we need pH meters in our lab. Not only will this impact student's learning in high school science lab, but it will also prepare students for the high-tech labs in college and industry.

These pH meters and their necessary accessories will be used in several AP Chemistry lab that my students are required to complete. Using these pH meters, students will not only learn chemistry concepts, but they will also develop the technological skills that are so widely sought after by employers. In addition to AP Chemistry, these pH meters and accessories will also be used in regular Chemistry and Biology labs.

You will make it possible for my students to have the opportunity to use equipment that is commonplace in suburban high schools. Without your donation, we will have to use the litmus paper and pH test strips that are practically extinct in the "real-world". These pH meters will be used by nearly 200 AP Chemistry, Chemistry, and Biology students this year alone. Over the course of the next several years, your donation could reach nearly 1,000 students.
