Help Mrs. Ferguson

Did you ever wish that you could see the world a little more clearly? I teach 2nd grade. I have a classroom full of students from many different backgrounds, with at least one thing in common: they love to learn.

My students always seem to have a very special interest in the natural world, so we really enjoy hands-on science. In fact, many students will light up when they find a hands-on science experiment listed on our daily schedule. We frequently collect outdoor specimens and samples to support our lessons. Among many things we study plants, animals, rocks and soil, natural resources and properties of matter. However, students often would like to get a closer look at what they are learning.

The students are in need of magnifying glasses of different sizes to allow them to explore, observe and discuss more actively during our science lessons. If each student has his or her own magnifying glass in hand then the whole class can be fully engaged in learning about the many aspects of the natural world around them.

Your help will make it possible for students to fully observe the textures, colors and patterns of nature. The magnifying glasses will let them see their world much more clearly. The students will be able to stop and take a closer look at their own learning.
