My Students

I teach science to about 100 fifth grade scholars at a charter school in the inner city Nashville area. They love science and most say it is their favorite subject. They are creative, curious, and enjoy hands-on activities. My school pushes scholars to be their best both in and out of the classroom. My scholars are not afraid of a challenge and they are always pushing themselves to achieve their goals. They love exploring and investigating the world around them.

My Project

Having tablets in the science classroom would be extremely beneficial.

The students would use the tablets to access educational science apps, create virtual models, read articles assigned to them on google classroom, conduct background research for projects, use them during science stations to watch videos related to the content, observe simulations (like a simulation of the earth, moon and sun at different points in Earth's orbit), and conduct virtual experiments.

These tablets would build engagement in the classroom and boost creativity. There is a plethora of apps and sites for science that would make the learning more hands-on and exciting. The possibilities of these tablets are endless!
