Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students have made incredible progress since the beginning of the school year. They are very active and enjoy many different types of learning experiences. All the children are very inquisitive and require different types of learning experiences to maintain there curiosity and motivation.

My students are adorable, inquisitive and brilliant.

They are young learners who present as being on the autism spectrum. Although they are atypical learners, they have all made incredible progress and many will move on to less restrictive environments. They love to learn about everything, especially math, literacy and science.

My Project

I am asking for a wide variety of science and math manipulatives to help my students continue on the path of life-long learning. I'm asking for resources such as a plasma globe, shape sorting cupcakes and perpetual motion toys to increase curiosity and to encourage language and an excitement for learning. I know my students well and I know they will love all the resources I've requested. I also know that the resources will help increase curiosity about science and math and will help drive lessons based on the desire of my students to learn about all the amazing resources I've requested.

I have been very fortunate to have many projects funded through DonorsChoose.

Every time new resources come into the classroom, the students are drawn right to them and the resources always increase expressive language and academic skills. Over my 15 years of experience with the same population, I have seen the difference that resources make in the achievement of every student. I know these resources will help to continue to make learning fun and exciting for my students.
