My Students

Do you remember how you learned science? I do, and it wasn't fun. I don't want that for my students. They need to learn by doing. These interactive whiteboard/smartboard activities and science center games will allow them to do just that. We want to be 21st century learners and need your help to achieve our goal.

Our class consists of third grade boys and girls.

We come from diverse economic, academic, and cultural backgrounds. Many of us are on free or reduced lunch. We like to learn by using technology and in hands-on, cooperative groups. We attend a new school that is only one year old. We have more technology than most schools but lack the interactive activities for science that can be used on our interactive whiteboard or in learning centers.

My Project

CD-ROM science activities for interactive whiteboards will help us explore science concepts with the whole class with skill-building activities designed for our interactive whiteboard! The CD-ROMs each cover a different concept with a full-color, interactive chart—with extras like moving graphics, optional narration, fun-filled games and more, so even reluctant learners stay engaged! There’s even a printable worksheet that corresponds to the chart—plus a quiz mode for reinforcing what students have learned. The CD-Rom contains target standards in these areas: life science, effects of force and motion, earth science, the solar system, and the scientific method. The file folder games allow students to label the stages of the water cycle, sort simple machines, explore animal adaptations and more as they play engaging folder games on their own! We will learn about the target standards in these areas: life cycles, magnetism, earth processes, and character. Let's have fun learning by doing!

We are not happy or successful learning by staying in our seats, listening to lectures, or reading from a textbook. We want to learn by using our hands and minds. We want to learn using interactive technology. We want to be global, 21st century learners. These resources and your help will allow us to do just that. Help us become the future!
