My Project

Science in the classroom is very important. For our science fair, our first graders are concentrating on plants and the life cycle of a plant. I would love for my students to have an individual plant of their own so they can watch it grow. Along with that, I would need soil to plant Mother's Day/science fair flowers to make our projects come to life. We also have a class Aero Garden and would love to have the pods to go along with it. This would be great to have this in our science fair as a class along with the individual student flowers.

Along with our plant curriculum, I would like to also have a butterfly kit.

I will discuss the life cycle of a butterfly. They can watch the larvae grow into a chrysalis, and then a beautiful butterfly. Once the larvae grow into butterflies, I am going to have my students release them outside.

My students are a special bunch of first graders who love to learn especially if it is hands on. They will really enjoy both science units for plants and butterflies if my project gets funded!
