Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a teacher in a low economic area of our school district. I teach Science and love to give my students hands on experiences, but it can be costly. In order to achieve this and have a very positive impact on my students, they are in need of materials. I am asking for donations to help build up our classroom and my students.

We have been displaced from Hurricane Harvey and our resources are now more limited than before.

This makes it very hard at times to give my students the maximum learning experience they deserve.

After working in this area for over 10 years, I see that many of these children are driven and have aspirations, they just do not always have the proper guidance. I would love to give them experiences that do not come with their everyday living, by having necessary materials in my classroom to give them positive experiences.

My Project

My students need computers in the classroom to help them build on their technology skills. Unfortunately, after being displaced from Hurricane Harvey, my students no longer have a computer class.

My students need computers in the classroom to be able to go on our curriculum sites and get remediation if and when needed.

My students have many gaps in reading and math, having computers will help give them the opportunity to practice their skills in class, since many do not have the ability to go online at home.

Computers in my classroom will help my students improve on their skills and improve on their state tests.
