This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
The students I teach live in a high-risk area. They have vivid imaginations and are eager to learn new skills, but lack the resources. They are especially interested in engineering design such as redesigning face masks to make them comfortable.
My Project
What is science without hands-on inquiry? With the materials I have chosen, students will be able to get into the science lab to investigate and see chemistry, biology, and physical science in action. One of the first questions students ask me as a science teacher is, "Are we going to the lab"? I always answer them, "Of course, we are"! The materials I have chosen gives students the opportunity to get away from the limited textbooks and discover science for themselves. I humbly ask your support to make this happen.
