Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My ESOL 3rd grade students will learn about plants and how they grow from seed to plant. They will learn about the parts of plants and the environment.

By providing them with all the tools and background knowledge of photosynthesis, students will learn science vocabulary as they work in groups preparing to grow their plants.

Once they have explored and learned the knowledge they need to grow plants from seeds, they will complete an interactive journal with diagrams and label all parts of the plant. They will have to supplies to grow their plants and continue to make observations that they will graph in their science notebook. Group activities will allow them to learn more English as they communicate with each other. Incentives will be provided to motivate them to continue leaning English and participating in class through the curriculum.
