Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

As a first-grade teacher in a self-contained ASD classroom, I love interacting with these fantastic and enthusiastic kids. My class comprises 12 students with autism. To target their individual needs, they follow a modified curriculum and a standard curriculum. My students come from diverse cultural backgrounds; many of them need intervention strategies to communicate and express their needs. Social sciences are an enormous learning challenge for them. However, every day they enter the classroom and amaze me with what they can learn and achieve.

They are always excited to learn and try new things.

I feel blessed to get to work with such a great group of students, and they will be blessed with your help as well. They face several challenges daily.

My Project

The science center will allow my 12 students to access their curriculum by using a STEM program and engage in hands-on science experiments, for example, motion. Throughout this unit, they will identify different types of Motion and the forces causing them.

These resources will allow them to learn and work together to solve real-life problems by encouraging their curiosity about the world.These manipulatives will enable them to fail and try again.

The materials requested will be used during large group presentations and independent center rotation. Thus, my students will be exploring and gaining experience. These materials also will use for differentiated instruction based on students' skills.
