This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our school is using the Core Knowledge Curriculum for science. Although it is a great student centered curriculum, no materials have been provided to fully teach and enrich our scholars' learning experience.

There are three units that my second graders will be focusing on: matter, habitats, and land and water.

The materials that I have selected are to help enrich and further my scholars learning, such as a balance scale, watering cans, a hermit crab habitat, sand, soil, and various tool kits.

I strongly believe the best way to learn and fully understand science is through the hands-on experience.
