My Students

My students are in need of accessories for our Cricut maker to help them get the most out of their education. My school is committed to providing our students with the best educational opportunities. Students today are increasingly asked to produce "professional" looking products for all sorts of class projects. It would be amazing if I could help give my students this edge.

We will use the Cricut Maker accessories to emphasis how science, art and computer class can come together as one.

In the past my students have created everything from their own unique atom models to animal and plant cells, models of volcanoes and even invented their own original board games. My students need accessories for the Cricut maker to help bring our science classroom into the 21st century.

I teach 7th grade in Bayside, NY. Many of my students are new to this country and speak a variety of different languages. Each student brings his or her own diverse background and experiences to the classroom. But the one thing they all have in common is their passion to learn. I try to utilize many different styles to address the diverse needs of my students.

My Project

My students will learn to use this Cricut maker in order to create amazing graphic designs and art! The accessories will allow us to work continuously without have to worry about how and when we can next get supplies. It will booster our science curriculum as my students use their coding skills to program the machine. This will give them the opportunity to create class stickers, posters, labels and designs for group projects. They will be able to demonstrate their understanding of many different science topics such as rocks and minerals or plate tectonics. This has applications in our school community as well. We can use the Cricut maker for cross curricular activities and projects with both the math and art departments.

Many of my students lack access to technology preventing them from mastering 21st Century skills, including coding, programming, and access to online tools and resources.

Using technology on a daily basis helps many students cement new concepts and sets the tone for future learning. The lack of sufficient technology at our school prevents our students from maximizing learning new information in the way that many students learn best. This machine will allow students to learn about creating and crafting, opening a door for future science design artists and allowing them to be creative in ways they haven't even considered yet!
