My Students

The students of my class are a group of 7th and 8th grade boys and girls. Our class is a self-contained special education class. The students need a great deal of hands on activities to better understand the curriculum. They are multi-sensory learners and there multiple reading and math levels. There are a multitude of disabilities within our class and each one has its own impact on the students' learning. There is an amazing amount of positivity within our school and encouragement.

My Project

The items that I have chosen will make difficult ideas and concepts much easier to understand for my students, who are middle school aged special education students in a self-contained class. They require a great deal on visual and hands on activities to better understand what they are learning. We are approaching a unit in the solar system, so the item that I have chosen will be a big help! We also will be learning a lot of the impact humans have on the Earth. As for the Social Studies file folders, these will make excellent station activities for small group assignments and to build on what we are discussing over he upcoming months in school!
