Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students with learning differences learn best through hands-on activities. The materials in this project will help all my students create lava lamps and DIY sensory bottles as part of learning about engineering and scientific topics.

With your help, every student in my special day classes will be able to create their own lava lamp and sensory bottle while learning about science topics, such as the density and polarity of liquids and chemical reactions.

In making these lamps using plastic bottles, baby oil, glitter, and other supplies, my students will be able to enjoy the making process as well as be able to practice their communication skills through sharing about their learning with others. And best of all, they will get to keep their lava lamps as sensory bottles...two projects in one! In advance, thank you for supporting this experiment and the learning opportunity for my students with learning differences.
