Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My classroom is designed to allow students to explore through play! I live by the quote, "If a child can't learn the way you teach, maybe we should teach the way they learn" Ignacio Estrada. I am constantly finding new ways to improve my teaching while fueling success for the students!

My classroom is filled with eighteen, energetic, 4 and 5-year-old students.

They are all motivated by success and have a huge passion to learn. On any given day I can ask them if they are ready for a busy day. They will always respond yes! My students are willing to not only learn, but teach their peers when they can. Our school is located in the Bronx. We are a first year program hoping to provide the best education possible with the supplies available to us.

My Project

The Jumbo Eyedroppers with Stand will give students the opportunity to develop fine motor skills while noticing cause and effect. The Jumbo Test Tubes with Stand will provide students a vehicle for their experiments where they can create, measure, and observe. The Shapes and Colors Discovery Set will give students a hands-on opportunity to view shapes as well as colors. The Space Sand Primary Pack will allow students to increase fine motor skills while testing and observing the reaction of sand in various liquids. Students will enjoy learning about insects by listening and viewing them using the GeoSafari talking Microscope.

The materials requested will allow me to give students the opportunity to create experiments and truly develop the "taste" for the science.
