My Students

Help my students go beyond the textbook in their exploration of geologic time. Through your support, they will be able to manipulate fossils from the three major geologic era when life on earth took root and evolved into the diverse species that we see today.

My students vary in ages from 14 to 16.

They are highly, academically motivated. The majority are ethnic minorities, (Jewish, Asian, Black, Latino), who have excelled throughout their academic careers and managed to be selected to attend our school. Our school is an urban college preparatory school and these students have been selected through a rigorous process.

My Project

This project will fund the purchase of a class set of fossils from the Cenozoic, Mesozoic, and Paleozoic era. Each fossil set includes representative fossils from the three major geologic eras, allowing students to fully appreciate the evolutionary and mass extinction events that lead to Earth's current biodiversity.

This project is important because it ensures that my students have the resources necessary for them to explore their science knowledge in a practical manner.

Having a functional lab with updated material also sends a clear message to students that they are valued and worthy of our time and energy.
