This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

A weather station at our school will give students from K-8 access to real data that they can collect themselves, which will give real life science experience! The data we collect will be used to help them learn graphing, data analysis, and how to write scientific conclusions. Being able to use data in the classroom that connects to something they are experiencing in their daily lives like weather will help it be more meaningful to the students. There are weather and climate related state standards in most grade levels, and it can be used in so many different ways. Teachers will be trained on using the weather station, and they will be able to show students that science is something that they can do!
