My Project

The students I work with need support in developing their foundational literacy skills. They are provided with targeted, systematic instruction in areas of early literacy. During their time with me, they engage in learning activities that address phonological awareness, letter-sound correspondence, and word decoding. Small group lessons include the use of multisensory learning opportunities where students are able to engage with their learning in a hands-on manner. Having these pouches will provide me with a way to send home materials for students to continue their individualized learning at home. The pouches will transport materials that families can use to extend the learning their child is engaging in at school. Many families want to support their children with their educational goals, but they don't know how. Access to these pouches will eliminate that barrier because students will have meaningful materials with them at all times.
