My Project

As a special education dramatic arts teacher for middle school and high school students with severe disabilities in New York City, I have seen that being involved in theater and the arts has given my students a creative outlet that they very much need to help with their SEL. Our students will be performing Willy Wonka Jr. this June and we can use some help making the costumes and the sets to make this show spectacular. Our goal for this production is to, along with our students, make most of our sets, props, and costumes. To make this a reality we need some awesome supplies. We have a large ensemble of Oompa Loompas and we want them to feel special. The wigs, coveralls, and shirts will help make our diverse ensemble feel like a team.

Our students have so many daily stressors and hurdles, and we are excited to work with them on a spectacular show to exhibit all of their talents to relieve some of their stress!
