Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

School supplies are important for student's learning. We are half way thru the school year and it’s time to restock our materials bins.

I want to support my students learning with new and colorful school supplies.

Providing basic school supplies for classroom use and to take home as school PBIS rewards helps my students be excited about coming to school. Our school uses Positive Behavior Intervention Supports(PBIS) to encourage our students to have expected classroom behaviors. When I see a student following directions, helping others and saying pro-social comments, I praise my students good behavior. My students feel good about themselves when they receive a compliment. The praise I give them improves their self-confidence. Students feel good about the decisions they are making and they will continue to make good choices. PBIS rewards help build up my student's good character traits.

I pair compliments with PBIS rewards and at the end of class students choose a PBIS reward. I tell students, "this can be your reward to use and you earned it! Enjoy your reward! Or you can pass this reward forward and give it to someone else. Everyone enjoys being rewarded with something special and random acts of kindness make people smile!"

The paper, markers, pens and highlighters in this project are bright and colorful. My students will have these basic school supplies to support their learning and creativity. I can’t wait to see the projects and drawings my students will make with these school materials. Some of these markers, pens snd highlighters will be added to our rewards center, so students have rewards options to select from when they earn a PBIS reward. It will be wonderful to have these awesome school supplies. Thank you for supporting my students interest in learning.
