Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach a group of 35 fifth and sixth grade students in East San Diego County. My students are resilient and face every challenge they meet head on. They are positive role models who want to make changes in the world for the better. They are kind, generous, and share their hearts with each other and their community.

This year, students will begin their school year in distance learning.

Many of my students do not have the supplies and tools available at home to make their learning successful. I want to provide my students with the structure, environment, and materials they would encounter in my classroom although they will be learning from home.

My Project

By creating take-home kits that include essential school supplies, my students will be set up for success and can have the tools they need to be successful this school year!

Many families are struggling during the pandemic, and have been unable to go out and provide these supplies for their children.

My hope is that we bring a little positivity and motivation into students homes by giving them a little something to brighten their day! Students will love and enjoy the materials such as pencils, crayons, erasers, and more that they will have at home that they normally would have inside the classroom!
