My Students

My students are very nice children who come from low-income families; some of them live in shelters or are in foster care. Many students live in the projects and as a result, were not exposed to many interesting things that science can offer. However, all my students are very respectful and curious, especially middle school students. They are engaged in all activities I come up with. Even though they need to work a lot on their studying skills, they are not afraid to embrace the challenging tasks. They enjoy inquiry related activities and like to explore new things.

My Project

In order for my students to start their new school year successfully, they will need the basic school supplies such as notebooks, glue, and pencils. Providing my students with basic school supplies will release their school anxiety levels and make them ready to learn from the first day. I don't want to constantly repeat to bring these supplies knowing that some of them can not afford to. I want to create a supportive learning atmosphere from the beginning by providing students with neccessary suplies and jump quickly into the learning. Having all these supplies on hand will allow students to accomplish their projects for the science fair because usually we struggle with lack of supplies to complete the projects.
