Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My fourth grade students are amazing kids who love coming to school everyday. They are so happy to be back in-person and are so eager to participate and learn.

Our school is a Title I school and most of my students come from low income homes.

However, this doesn’t stop my students and their families from working hard to achieve their academic goals.

Unfortunately, most of the materials that I have purchased over the years was sent home with my previous students to make “learning at home” more accessible for them. It would be a tremendous help to be able to purchase these materials again for my current students.

My Project

My students are currently using paper and pencil for their math lessons which can be frustrating for young learners who are still making a lot of mistakes. I would like to provide them with new whiteboards and other supplies to ease their frustration of constantly erasing and accidentally tearing their papers. This will give my students the opportunity to practice their new skills without fear of making mistakes.

These writing materials will be used in our classroom to help my students stay engaged and encourage participation during our math and writing lessons.

It will also provide me with an opportunity to quickly check for understanding.
