My Students

Being a support mathematics teacher allows me the opportunity to utilize my background in mathematics as well as special education. I am able to teach students from grades 3-6 who are struggling the most with learning grade level mathematics. I typically work with about 8 students at a time in a small group setting that focuses on what they specifically need to help them reach the Common Core Standards.

Many of my students are coming from low-income households or are English language learner students.

Coming from a low-income household should not be an excuse for these students to not be successful in school and they deserve all the wonderful tools to help them be successful in math.

My Project

I am requesting classroom supplies and necessities that will help my students become star mathematicians. As we approach the midpoint in the school year, may students are now at a point where they are running low on school supplies.

Basic school supplies are needed in order to help students be successful in the classroom and to help me to continue with hands on and engaging math lessons for our school's must struggling mathematicians.

The supplies being requested are pencils, pens, printer ink cartridges, colored paper and card stock. I am also requesting a text that will help me to continue to develop math fluency skills within in these students. I am also hoping to share the strategies and activities that I learn from the text with other teachers to develop a greater sense of math fluency in the building.
