Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are just beginning their lifelong learning adventure when they enter my classroom. Some have experienced a PreK setting and some have not. These students, at 5 and 6 years old, are learning the skills needed to become successful in their future. About a third of our school qualifies for free or reduced-price lunch. The skills they learn in my classroom will build the foundation they need to succeed in various parts of their lives. Self-regulation and social learning are a large part of the early childhood classroom and an area I focus on. These students are bright, inquisitive, caring, and growing every day.

My Project

In my classroom we need many materials to be successful. These materials like page protectors, pens for labeling, card stock for projects, and writing notebooks, help organize our work and provide easy access to knowledge. Without these items some of our tasks become difficult.

Materials for learning can be just as important as content in some situations.

With access to these items my students can be successful in their learning adventure.

Each child has a take-home folder that will allow important information to go between home and school. Sight words will be studied and tested on daily. Having information like this in a page protector is so very important for Kindergarteners. Their folders are often subject to rain or food and the page protectors ensure that they can still work on their words.
