Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are in a Title I school, located in Los Angeles County where most of our students come from low-income households. Ninety-three percent of the students receive free lunch. My students are not only diverse in their cultural backgrounds but also in their learning styles.

My class is an Autism Special Education class.

My students are in the 3rd and 4th grade. Of my students, 90% are English Learners and receive services such as speech, occupational therapy, and social-emotional therapy. My students are awesome! They are eager to learn.

My Project

I am teaching an extraordinary group of students. They're incredibly resilient and have shaped the way I think about education and life. Our Title 1 school strives to give our students every opportunity for success that it can, but sometimes there are factors out of our control.

The laminating pouches, Astrobright papers, and sticker paper will help me reach my students, they will be able to use their creativity to engage in their learning with such items by creating interactive notebooks.

As a special education teacher, I need to find ways to keep my students engaged in their learning. While our curriculum provides project options for most subjects, project-based learning is lacking. The Astrobright paper and sticker paper will allow my students to get creative while learning.

Your contribution to this project would have an enormous impact on my autistic students. It would help them greatly with their daily learning.
