Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My school is located in a low socio-economic area. Our students are curious, smart, and funny. Many are second language learners. My school has added sixth and seventh grade units and has added 8th grade this year. We are working to gather middle school resources.

My students are smart and they work hard.

This year has been difficult for everyone without the normal routines. This is especially true for students and teachers. Throughout the changes we've had to make, my students have maintained their eagerness to learn and to interact with each other and myself.

My Project

My students are sixth, seventh, and eighth graders. They are just learning to be more independent learners and having binders is a way to teach them how to organize their work. This is a skill that they will need as high schoolers and in the workforce. I am requesting binders and dividers so my students can learn how to organize themselves in school.

At the beginning of the year, I help my students label and organize their binders.

This helps them keep track of all their assignments and handouts. Being able to know exactly where an assignment is and where to find notes will help my students succeed in school. They will not have to deal with lost papers.
