School Nurse Office

Help me give my students a place to feel safe and heard. As a school nurse, I hope to make students feel comfortable and welcome.

My Project

My goal for this project is to allow a comfortable place for students to be seen. There is so much anxiety in young kids regarding coming to the nurse when they are injured, and I hope to make them feel safe. I hope by providing fun things like stickers will encourage students to seek the care they need. I deal with a lot of students with mental health concerns and would love resources to help them cope. Calming kits can be used for children that need a safe place and help regulating their feelings. I hope to bring color to my office and practicality to help me achieve taking care of all the student that come into my office during the school day, because let’s be honest- no one wants to come to the school nurse or be sick. Sometimes kids don’t want to stay in school and want to go home. Maybe it’s a sticker that brightens their day. Did a kid loose a tooth? That’s a big deal and should be celebrated! They can write their name on a poster and get a fun sticker. A rolling desk would allow me to go to where the student is and provide proper documentation rather than being glued to my desk. I want to be where the kids need me and I want to help them the best I can.
