This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am so lucky to work with an amazing bunch of motivated special needs and English language learners. We are in a diverse community where many backgrounds are represented. Our school also has Title I status, which reflects our community, but not our drive!
My students are determined to succeed regardless of what it may look like this year.
I believe that the most valuable learning children do is when they make all project planning decisions and see them through. Students, whether they are remote, in person, or a hybrid of the two, benefit most when learning is hands-on. I would be so appreciative of your support!
My Project
As a teacher today, it is essential to expose students to the ever changing world of technology. As the founder of our school newspaper, we are in need of an iPad to help the students with their interviews, articles, and photography. The technology available at our school has the necessary apps blocked by the district so we are really at a disadvantage. At this time, students need to feel connected and help each other fill the pandemic gap. Writing and reporting on our school is the most fun way of doing it. I so appreciate any donations, big and small, in my quest to open the horizons of my Title I students, and take them into the 21st century as the reporters they were meant to be.
