This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our students work extremely hard everyday to create the morning news for our school. Different groups of students commit to staying after school at least 3 times a week to prerecord our morning news for the following day. This involves moving tables in our media center, setting up the tables and chairs, setting up the camera, and trying to make the morning news as enjoyable as they can be for our school with very little resources. They do all this without complaint and with a lot of enthusiasm!

The commitment our students have to make sure our school news is a success is incredible.

When one student isn't able to stay after school, there is always someone else there willing to help. The teamwork and selflessness our students show is what I love most!

My Project

Our students commit to staying after school 2-3 times a week in order to record our school news. Although it is not always with great sound, lighting and location, they are always putting on a great news show that the school loves to watch everyday. Not only will they use this equipment for our school news, but also for school events such as plays, musicals, and festivals.

What a better way to make a bigger impact with our news stories than with modern recording equipment!

The equipment I am requesting will help with the look and sound of our school news as well as other events. When watching the news reports, we have a difficult time hearing what our anchors have to say since there is only a built-in microphone in the camera, and the recording itself is not the best quality. The camera that is requested can double as a video camera and be used for photography for our special events!
