Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As a first year therapist, I am eager to provide mental health therapy to students in the Elementary school. I will be in 2 Elementary schools and will have an office in both schools for the first time!

In play therapy, a variety of toys and games such as Legos, dolls, Magna-Tiles, board games, sand, trampolines, and swings are used to facilitate self-expression, problem-solving, and emotional processing.

Legos and Magna-Tiles allow children to construct and visualize their thoughts and feelings, while dolls provide a medium for role-playing and exploring interpersonal dynamics. Board games can help teach social skills and problem-solving strategies, and sand trays Trampolines and swings, on the other hand, help children release pent-up energy and manage stress. Each of these tools is carefully chosen to match the child’s developmental stage and therapeutic goals, creating a dynamic and engaging environment for healing and growth.
